🎭 Theatre Curtains in Canada: The Ultimate Guide You Didn’t Know You Needed (But Definitely Do)

By Equus Fabrics — proudly fueling Canadian stages since Catherine O’Hara was still teaching the world what real comedic timing is.

If you’re hunting for theatre curtains, commercial stage drapery, or a theatre curtain backdrop that looks so good it deserves its own standing ovation, you’ve officially arrived at the right place.

Welcome to Equus Fabrics — Canada’s not-so-secret supplier of IFR (Inherently Flame Retardant) velvet, custom stage drapery, and fabrics that make directors gasp, production managers relax, and fire marshals give a tiny approving nod.

🎬 Why Theatre Curtains Actually Matter (More Than Most People Think)

Let’s be honest:
A theatre without curtains is just… an awkward room with too many chairs.

Like Canadian theatre institutions like the Stratford Festival they do everything from:

• Frame the show

• Hide the chaos backstage

• Survive daily abuse from stagehands armed with coffee

• Swallow light beautifully

• Meet strict Canadian fire codes (Hello IFR velvet, our old friend)

• Make even a budget performance look expensive

This is why commercial theatre curtains aren’t something you buy on Amazon at 2 a.m. (please don’t).
You go to professionals.
