Looking for vinyl upholstery fabric by the yard in Canada?
Equus Fabrics supplies Vivid Vinyl, a durable commercial-grade PVC upholstery fabric available in approximately 35 colours. It is designed for restaurant seating, hospitality furniture, offices, institutional interiors, retail fixtures and other frequently used upholstered surfaces.
Purchase the amount required for a small upholstery job or contact us for wholesale and roll pricing on larger commercial projects. Samples are available to help you confirm the colour, texture and suitability before ordering.
Available by the yard or roll with shipping across Canada.
The first question when choosing upholstery vinyl should not be whether the colour looks good.
The first question should be: What will the surface encounter every day?
Restaurant booths may be exposed to food, oils, constant movement and frequent cleaning. Hotel and office seating must maintain a professional appearance through repeated use. Marine interiors and public spaces may have additional performance or fire-testing requirements.
Vivid Vinyl combines a leather-like appearance with the durability and practical maintenance needed for many commercial upholstery projects.
Common applications include:
For exterior marine seating, healthcare environments or projects involving strong disinfectants, speak with us before ordering. A specialized marine, outdoor or healthcare vinyl may be more appropriate.
Vivid Vinyl is a PVC upholstery material with a polyester backing, engineered for contract and hospitality use.

Clean using mild soap or an approved water-based cleaner, followed by a clean-water rinse. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products unless specifically approved.
Restaurant booths are among the hardest-working pieces of furniture in a commercial interior.
The upholstery must withstand people sliding across it, food spills, body oils and regular cleaning while continuing to look presentable. Commercial PVC vinyl is frequently selected because it provides a clean leather-like appearance without the maintenance or cost of genuine leather.
Vivid Vinyl is suitable for:
With approximately 35 colours available, restaurants can choose traditional leather-inspired browns and tans, practical neutrals or stronger colours for branded interiors.
Vinyl upholstery provides the appearance of leather in a material that is practical for busy interiors.
Vivid Vinyl is available in colours ranging from charcoal, black, cream and chocolate to red, blue, green and brighter contemporary shades. This makes it suitable for traditional restaurants, modern offices, hospitality interiors, entertainment venues and residential furniture.
Its smooth, low-sheen surface creates a clean commercial appearance without looking overly glossy.
Because colours can appear differently on a screen, we recommend requesting a physical sample before approving an upholstery project.
You do not need to purchase an entire roll for every job.
Equus Fabrics supplies Vivid Vinyl by the yard for smaller upholstery projects. Wholesale and roll pricing are available for upholsterers, designers, restaurants, furniture manufacturers and commercial projects requiring larger quantities.
When requesting pricing, please provide:
Providing this information allows us to confirm whether Vivid Vinyl or another specialized vinyl collection is the better option.
Not every upholstery vinyl is built for the same environment.
Prioritize abrasion performance, stain resistance, appearance and compatibility with the restaurant’s regular cleaning products.
Healthcare upholstery may require bleach or disinfectant compatibility, fluid resistance and specific fire-test documentation. Do not assume that every commercial vinyl is suitable for every healthcare cleaner.
Exterior boat and patio upholstery requires verified UV, mildew, moisture and cold-crack performance. Vivid Vinyl is recommended for marine interiors; ask us about specialized marine vinyl for exposed exterior seating.
For sofas, chairs, ottomans and home bars, consider the colour, hand, texture and amount of daily use. Purchasing by the yard makes Vivid Vinyl accessible for smaller residential projects.
Not always.
“Faux leather” is a broad term used for materials designed to resemble natural leather. A faux leather may be made from PVC vinyl, polyurethane—often called PU—or another coated material.
Vivid Vinyl is a PVC upholstery vinyl. PVC and PU can look similar, but they have different constructions, cleaning requirements and performance characteristics.
When requesting a quote, tell us about the application instead of relying only on the term “faux leather.” We can help identify the appropriate material.
