  1. I am looking for fire resistant drapery fabric that must be CAN/ULC rated. It must be BLACK. Each drape panel width is 60″ x 118″ in length. I will need enough fabric for 6 drapery panels. The fabric just needs to supply light filtering so it does not need to be lined. I will be hanging the panels with drapery rings & clips.

Do you have anything that fits my needs? This is to soften light coming through church stained glass windows. Cost is an issue so if there is something in your clearance stack, we would be interested.

  8. Hello! I’m a designer from the US and I met with a small fabric printer here in the US yesterday. Because of current tariffs he is uncertain about pricing because normally he sources fabric from China. We wondered about sourcing from Canada because from what I understand tariffs much better with Canada. Can you help us with bulk orders of white dress fabrics for our own printing? I appreciate your help.

  14. I am looking for fire resistant drapery fabric that must be CAN/ULC rated. We are at a non-profit school, so cost is an issue. We are looking for sheer curtains or fabric that can be made into curtains. We need to put curtains in 8 classrooms.
Do you have anything that fits my needs?

    1. Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out — we can definitely help with this.

For school and public-building applications in Canada, curtain and drapery fabrics must comply with the CAN/ULC-S109 flame-resistance standard, which is the requirement under the Ontario Fire Code for curtains and decorative textiles used in buildings such as schools and assembly spaces.

We offer CAN/ULC-S109 certified fire-resistant fabrics that are suitable for classroom curtains, including:

      • Inherently Flame-Retardant (IFR) sheer fabrics — soft, light-filtering, and permanently fire-resistant (the protection does not wash out)
      • Budget-friendly contract fabrics appropriate for non-profit and educational environments
      • Fabrics that can be supplied by the yard or fabricated into finished curtains

Since cost is an important factor, we can recommend options that balance compliance, durability, and affordability.

To prepare the best recommendation and pricing, could you please let me know:

Approximate window size (width × height) per classroom

      Ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted tracks/rods?

      Preferred look — sheer / semi-sheer / privacy curtain

      Timeline for installation

Once we have this information, we can suggest the most economical CAN/ULC-rated solution for your 8 classrooms.

Looking forward to helping with your project.

      Cheers
      Equus Fabrics

  15. Hello
I am looking for fabric for theatre curtains. I need it in black and it must meet CAN/ULC-S109 flame-resistance standard. It also needs to be blackout to prevent light from bleeding through. I need to be sound deadening as well. I have not decided on the type of hanging mechanism as of yet. I need about 70 yards for this project. Can you please let me know what you have for product and the approximate price per yard. We are a non profit working on a budget.

    Thank you

  19. Hello, we are looking for some sound proofing material, possible velour to hang on a couple of walls
6’x12’ wide. Would you have anything like this that we could make work?
    Thank you

    1. Hi Wendy,

      Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, we do carry several velour fabrics that are commonly used to help reduce echo and improve acoustics in spaces such as studios, theatres, churches, and meeting rooms.

For wall applications, our heavier IFR velours are typically the most effective option. We would be happy to recommend a suitable fabric based on your project requirements.

      Could you let me know:

How many walls you are looking to cover?
The approximate height of the walls?
Whether the goal is to reduce echo/reverberation or block sound transmission between rooms?

Once I have a little more information, I can suggest the best option and provide pricing. Thanks!
